NBA All-Star Weekend has arrived and beyond the game itself, the skills competitions of NBA All-Star Saturday Night is one of the most anticipated dates on the sports calendar every year.
This year, the event takes place north of the border at the Air Canada Centre, home of the Toronto Raptors. The NBA All-Star Game is Sunday, Feb. 14, when the Eastern Conference stars meet the Western Conference stars.
NBA All-Star Saturday night features three marquee events; the Verizon Slam Dunk contest, the NBA All-Star Game Skills Challenge and the Foot Locker Three-Point Shooting Contest.
Minnesota Timberwolves guard Zach LaVine won the slam dunk contest last year. The Slam Dunk contest doesn't boast the same level of talent as it has in the past, but it still is chalk full of young NBA stars looking to make a name for themselves as the top dunker in the NBA.
There will be four players participating in the event this year, including LaVine as he looks to defend the title.
